TSAGKARADA is a stunning mountainous village 54km from Volos and at an altitude of 450m. It is known for its picturesque landscape: cobbled paths covered by chestnut, cherry and walnut trees, streams and waterfalls, traditional Byzantine churches and flowering hydrangea gardens. Within a short drive from the village, one arrives at its heavenly beaches (see names below).

The NANOPOULEIOS SCHOOL was built in 1909, following the donation of its benefactor Nikolaos G. Nanopoulos (1866-1927), born in Tsagkarada and raised in Egypt where he excelled as a businessman. In 1985, the stone-built school was characterized by UNESCO as a Work of Art. Nowadays, it functions as a Primary School and hosts plenty of theatrical performances, exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events. The family has been enjoying the view of this school from their summer house for decades and it gives the couple great joy to celebrate their love in its playground.
